Théatre National > Grande Salle
Funambulist fallen from the sky, troubadour of everyday life or devilish archangel, Jacques Higelin has displayed his creativity over the years without ever submitting to any kind of formatting. His influences include the great French singers, New Orleans jazz, psychedelic folk, funk metal and Caribbean and African rhythms.
A wild poet with a dazzling imagination, Higelin is known above all for his pure generosity on stage. During his extravagant concerts where the improvisation can go on for hours, he breaks down the barriers between theatre and song, between notes and lyrics, between the artist and the audience. Tireless, Jacques Higelin will present his latest album Coup de foudre at the Festival des Libertés, just a few days after his 70th birthday. This album reflects all the facets of his personality and the entire palette of his inspirations. It contains the quintessence of his art. Just what's needed to break through the gloom and to blow preconceived notions to bits!
