At 80, Siné is still fighting the good fight. No power and no fad has ever been able to stop him. He is what he's always been: atheist, anti-police, anti-military, anti-colonialist, cat lover, jazz and salsa fanatic. Sacked from the magazine Charlie Hebdo, he rebounded by founding Siné Hebdo. During the course of this adventure, he talks about his past combats, his relations with Malcolm X and his friendship with the poet Jacques Prévert. He has always supported causes, sometimes mistakenly, as he freely admits. The fierceness of his resolve originates from the tenderness he feels for the oppressed, which is also the source of his rage against the privileged of all types. The man from "le journal mal élevé" has some steadfast principles.
The film will be followed by a meeting with Stéphane Mercurio (the director), Siné (cartoonist and publisher of the magazine Siné Hebdo), Catherine Sinet (chief editor of the magazine Siné Hebdo), Philippe Geluck (cartoonist, notably for Siné Hebdo), Philippe Decressac (cartoonist, notably for Siné Hebdo) and Noël Godin (Le Gloupier, activist, cream pie thrower, columnist at Siné Hebdo).
This viewing will mark the official opening of the 2010 international documentary competition.
