In Chile, water resources are managed solely by the private sector. In the north, the multinational Codelco has control of the water, and local farmers can no longer irrigate their fields. In the centre, sea water is desalinated at great expense and sold to city dwellers at a high price. A sharp contrast at a time when many organisations are seeking to have water designated as a shared resource and asset for humanity...
