On the eve of the recent elections, Russia Libertine denounces the pitiful economic and political situation of the world’s largest country, bogged down in numerous ‘affairs’. Put together in ‘thriller’ mode and narrated by the writer and dissident Victor Erofeyev, this documentary reveals the numerous lies disseminated by the Russian state with the aim of constructing an attractive official image. It is a nation tangled up in old outdated constitutions but keen for change and full of hope.
