L'Europe des Roms : pays dit sûrs ?

French

The debate will be introduced by the short film De Charbyde en Scylla.

The management of migratory flows and the lifting of visa restrictions, the ambiguity of freedom of movement within the European Union, the establishment of a list of so-called safe countries and the refusal to consider the need for protection have combined to catch the Roma in a trap: excluded in their own country, unwelcome elsewhere or ‘invited’ to leave, they are consequently bearing the brunt of increased stigmatisation and being forced to take drastic measures in order to survive.

With Refika Cazim (Romani Gypsy), Alexis Deswaef (President of the Ligue des droits de l’Homme), Bernard de Vos (Délégué général aux droits de l’enfant), Caroline Intrand (Cire), Tristan Wibault (Comité belge d’aide aux réfugiés) and Sophie Van Balberghe (Commissariat général aux réfugiés et apatrides) and Melita H. Šunji (Representant for the Regional Representation for Western Europe, UNHCR).

Partnership: Dynamo International, PAC, DGDE, LDH, MdM.
