The story of an Afghan asylum seeker defended by a Belgian lawyer who has won a historic victory at the European Court of Human Rights serves as the starting point for an appraisal and questioning of the consequences of asylum policies and the so-called European ‘load distribution’ system, in a country brought to its knees by the economic crisis and seduced by populist sirens: Greece.
Followed by a meeting with Bryan Carter and Emilie Wiinblad (Senior Policy Office, bureau for Europe, UNHCR).
Partnership: The UN Refugee Agency
