In early May 2012, the delegate-general for children’s rights headed to Serbia on the trail of a Roma family that had returned there from Belgium after the youngest of their five children had been born in our country. Soon after arriving there, Sunita, the multiply handicapped eldest, had died at the age of 11 due to lack of treatment. Based on this actual case, the documentary reports the persecution, violence and discrimination that Roma suffer in Serbia and other Member States of the supposedly ‘safe’ European Union.
