Théâtre National
Pioneers of french rock music since the 80s, mixing great lyrics, punk guitar, joyful brass instruments and accordion music, Têtes Raides have stayed true to their style and their approach, from their earliest days to the present. Their uplifting music and profound poetry come from the streets, like a protest, rushing through the gutters, sweeping away the trash and tossing stones at windows. They sing about the need to live, the instability and the persistence of human hopes, the small days of our great history, the expectations and disillusions that make us human.
Têtes Raides are also known for their undying commitment to fighting all kinds of fascism. To combat putrid fears and reactionary reflexes that forget the lessons of the past, they offer the openness of poetry, fun and humour, the free movement of ideas, emotions and people. The band recently celebrated their 30th anniversary, and, like fine wine, the older they get, the better, more complex , more refined and more delicate they become. Their 12th album, Les Terriens, reminds us of what we all are in our various ways: the resources and weaknesses of the human race, the joys and disappointments that come from these, and the responsibility they create. Festival of Liberties will be the first Belgian stop on their new tour.
