Algeria 1954-1962. A cruel colonial war of which many aspects are still repressed in people’s memories. But do we know that Belgians, “suitcase carriers” and lawyers, courageously joined forces with the National Liberation Front? That they organised the defence of prisoners and torture victims in Algeria? That they helped deserters and rebels escape?
