The Great War, commemorated with much pomp and circumstance, was also marked by mutinies and desertions. Military disobedience has been present in all ages and in all conflicts. It is about looking at the different contexts, observing what motivates disobedience and what makes it necessary. What are the conditions? How does one arrive at the conclusion that disobedience is necessary? What are the consequences? And what is its political significance?
