A frog immersed in a pot of water that is slowly being heated to boiling will fall asleep and then die, but will never resist. What if, like this frog, we are numbed by the slow, diffuse reform of the laws shaping our freedoms, by legislative complexity and by the discourse of the powers that be? Would an overview of what shapes and erodes our rights make the frog jump from the pot and escape?
