Les Partisans du chant

Récital Boxon
Mary M
Les Filles de Hirohito

Dedicated to shared poetry, stripped-down music and the sound of revolt, the Partisans du Chant will this year bring together artists who combine great picaresque literature with rock ’n roll, the spoken word with foreign rhythms, and the poetic with the political in a burst of expression.

Like a song of love and war, Récital Boxon explodes with fury and challenges established borders. A poetic and musical assault, festive and ferocious, breaking and entering into life. A non-negotiable rage whose path is one of mockery. The sound of fireflies under the fascist rot and the torments of helplessness.

With Maïa Chauvier (lyrics and vocals), David Marolito (music/arrangements/guitars), Gwenaël Francotte (drums and percussions), Julien de Borman (diatonic accordion), Pascal Hauben (bass), Corentin Dellicour (cello) and Vincent Robin (saxophone).

Mary M, a drunken wandering between two dreams of whisky-sodas on bar tops. This is rock music that likes to roam the night. It is naked poetry. It scratches our dissatisfaction. It keeps us from surrendering. It burns the candle at both ends. It sets it ablaze once and for all.

With Olivier Laage (lyrics and vocals), Julien de Borman (diatonic accordion), David Marolito (guitars), Frederik Visée (bass) and Julien Beghain (drums).

Les Filles de Hirohito mix and deliver, with unstoppable riffs, prose from Charles Péguy, finely honed verses by a certain Emile Verhaeren, translations of famous texts or original texts, both serious and playful. A release of wild intensity where energy is coupled with meaning to create an alternative French-language rock that is powerful, Creole in nature and free of any insecurity.

With Jean-Bastien Tinant (vocals), Daniel Bajoit (guitar, vocals), Cyril De Haes (bass), Gwenaël Francotte (drums) and a surprise guest…
