After having explored reception centres for asylum seekers in The Fortress and Swiss detention centres in Special Flight, Fernand Melgar, in his new film The World Is Like That, tries to track down the deportees from his previous film. He found five of them. The absurdity never ends: being met by the police and by torture in their home countries; women and children who stayed behind in Switzerland; lives that cannot return to normal after years of absence; desires and attempts to return to Europe...
