Nicaragua is one of the five countries in the world where the termination of a pregnancy remains illegal regardless of the circumstances of the pregnancy. At a Nicaraguan public hospital, obstetrician Dr. Carla Cerrato and her colleagues must choose between abiding a law inspired by the Catholic church that bans all abortions or saving lives of the women carrying the baby, a baby that does not live but that is alive in the eyes of justice.
