Aaron Swartz was an IT genius born in 1986 in Chicago. The developer and hack-tivist was astonishing as he used his intelligence to benefit the public domain, the Internet, everyday people. But the new 2.0 world that he personifies is caught up in an old world laden with misunderstandings and anti-freedom laws. He stands in the line of fire of justice and is subject to unbearable pressure for providing access to public works that are not usually free. The authorities want to make an example of him, but instead created an icon.
