In 2013, The Act of Killing introduced the filmed confession of the murder of a million opponents during the Indonesian 1965 coup in a film that shocked the world. “Imagine if Hitler and his accomplices had survived and were all brought together to re-enact their favourite scenes of the Holocaust in front of the camera," wrote one journalist. The second part of this two-part film, The Look of Silence, is a confrontation between torturers and victims. An unsparing, must-see film.
