Julia, Ina, Olga and Katia are orphans. At 18, they are transferred to a psychiatric hospital, as a simple continuation of their exclusion from Russian society. In frozen Siberia, these undesirables attempt to retrieve their right to family and to freedom. Before them stand judges, laws and rejection. Behind them are institutionalization, prison and friends. Will the trap tighten further around them every time?
