"A man with no country, flagless. Am I Belgian or am I from Congo, or just a black-skinned Belgian… Son of the colonies, child of slavery, adopted by Europe… " That’s how the Brussels-based rapper sets the scene. Badi is the musical translation of a narrow, subtle and living link between Brussels and Kinshasa. Badi, the Belgican, as his uncles like to call him, juggles with all the richness of his dual culture and his status as an Afro-European. His album Matongé is a little jewel which skilfully mixes samples of Congolese pop music and hip hop. Put simply, this is one concert not to miss.
