With the installation Anthropocène: hic!, Bernard Alain Brux presents a modelled vision of that unique geological period in order to better grasp the ‘rapid acceleration’ that characterizes our age. For the artist, urgency, a contraction of time, compresses our world, makes our erratic actions denser and, in a state of intoxication, pushes humans up against an invisible wall. 2016 characters made out of newspaper and hanging from the sky materialize the stage of humankind and render tangible, through the growing density of the grid that connects them, the asphyxiation of people’s minds and the compression of spaces of freedom.
