In the face of social and environmental crises, the expression ‘TINA - There is no alternative’ has taken a hit in recent years from a variety of social movements around the globe. ‘Anti-capitalists’, ‘degrowthers’ or ‘transition movement’: they are built on a new paradigm, and they experiment with new ways of ‘making a society’. How is the trade union movement integrating or hindering these alternatives? What roles can trade unions play in the power struggles with the organised front of transnational companies and the financial world, which threatens these alternatives?
