Lettre à Théo

Elodie Lélu

BEL • 2018 • 70’ • VO/OV st Fr/En

Greek filmmaker Theo Angelopoulos died in January 2012 while making a film in which he planned to tell the stories of victims of the economic crisis. Elodie Lélu, a former member of his crew, then decided to film what eventually became a filmed letter. She returned to Greece, where the misery of massive numbers of new refugees could be seen alongside the misery of victims of Greece’s austerity measures. It is the filming of a poetic homage to the humanist commitment of Theo Angelopoulos.

The film will be preceded by the opening of the 2019 International Documentary Competition.
