Loyautés radicales

Fr • 120’

Since 2014, Western societies have been questioning themselves about the roots of jihadism. How come young people born in Belgium and France have ended up carrying out mass attacks in Brussels and Paris? Do social exclusion, discrimination and criminal activity lie behind the radicalisation of youngsters from poorer neighbourhoods? Fabien Truong and Malika Mansouri, both authors of empirical studies in this field, offer us analytical frameworks designed to help us understand the social and political mechanisms that lead certain youngsters of North African/Arab origin and (not necessarily practising) Muslim culture down the path to extremism.

With: Fabien Truong (sociologue, auteur de Loyautés radicales. L’islam et les “mauvais garçons” (2017)) et Malika Mansouri (psychologue clinicienne, auteure de Révoltes postcoloniales au cœur de l’Hexagone (2013)). Modération : Myriem Amrani.
