Should the criminal justice system be scrapped? It’s widely believed that a society without courts and prisons would result in utter chaos, but there’s no denying that the penal system generates a huge amount of suffering and violence for all parties concerned. The Observatoire International des Prisons has been studying this topic and will share its analyses in the interests of debate. Beyond the findings on the failures of the prison system, we will think about what a world without prisons would be like.
