Daraya, la bibliothèque sous les bombes

Delphine Minoui, Bruno Joucla         FR• 2018 • 64’ • VO/OV st Fr/En

This film tells the story of three friends, who after meeting during the 2011 Syrian revolution, started retrieving books among the bombs to build a library, which in turn became a place of liberty, peace and sharing. The regime eventually transformed their city of Daraya into a ghost town, ransacking their library. Despite fleeing the country, the small group still retains an unfailing bond.

Followed by a meeting with Benjamin Peltier (Syria coordinator for Amnesty International) and Maryse Hendrix (Culture responsible for Amnesty International).
