Afghanistan boasts the largest opium production in the world. Use is also reaching record highs and today the streets of Kabul are filled with helpless users. The documentary makers follow the struggle of an extraordinary woman, Laila Haidari, as she fights the corruption of the Afghan regime and attempts to get heroin addicts to kick the habit in the absence of any government public health policy. In the self-financed center she founded, Haidari provides long-term support, but for how much longer?
