Horace Andy

It was at Studio One, under the guidance of Clement ‘Coxsone’ Dodd, that Horace Andy cut his first tracks. His soft and warm voice immediately charmed listeners.  If we were to remember only a single track from this period, it would be the inevitable ‘Skylarking’. In the middle of the 1970s, Horace Andy left Studio One to stand on his own two feet, to work with prestigious artists such as Dennis Brown, Derrick Harriot, Phil Pratt, Patrick Andy, John Holt, and many others. He recorded for Sly and Robbie, Bobbie Digital and King Jammy among others, no less. At the start of the 1990s, his name reached greater audiences thanks to his superb collaboration with Massive Attack. His second career began: the general public discovered the extent of the Jamaican singer's vocal harmonies and talent. Horace Andy will close out the 2019 edition of the Festival des Libertés.
