A billionaire promises space tourism, the planet is overheating and, here and there, the grumble of revolt can be heard. To make all this information hold together, let’s turn to documentary film, fictional cinema and literature. What can futuristic works tell us about our world? How can we document the ways in which we are subjugated and how we can set ourselves free? In short, how and with what stories can we get off our current path and prevent the worst from happening?
