The Dominican Republic is covered by thousands of hectares of sugarcane fields controlled by prominent American families. Isolated in tiny, ramshackle villages in the midst of these vast plantations, Haitian migrants work like slaves. Juan Alfonso Zapata, a Dominican visual artist, introduces us to 80 families lost in the green ocean of a plantation that is more than a century old.

Following by a discussion with the director, Juan Alfonso Zapata.
