A major figure in African music and reggae, Tiken Jah Fakoly is recognised worldwide as a committed and activist artist. Famous for his explosive live performances, he has played at all major festivals in Africa, Europe and Canada.
With his album Braquage de pouvoir, Tiken Jah Fakoly asserts his musical and political universe by letting it revolve around the four fundamentals of speech, dance, ingenuity, and roots reggae. A quarter of a century after Mangercratie, Tiken Jah continues to be as Fakoly as ever. When asked where he gets this unwavering energy from, he responds with conviction, “Activism! It’s my activism that keeps me fighting.”
