In France, farmers and agronomists are highlighting the enormous potential of so-called agro-forestry techniques. In England, the ‘Transition towns’ movement, which supports the production of food at the very heart of towns and cities, is undergoing extraordinary development. In Cuba, the fall of the USSR and the American embargo have led to a shortage of resources. The Cubans have had to find innovative solutions, leading to renewed independence and self-sufficiency in terms of food.
