The Tunisian revolution raised hopes of rapid changes in Tunisian society. In the run-up to the first democratic elections in 2012, the Islamist party EnNahda was ahead in the polls. Were its candidates using a double language? Can their programme respond to the social and economic aspirations of the Tunisian people?
