Mahdi Fleifel was raised in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Helweh in Lebanon. He now lives in Denmark but regularly returns to the camp… for his holidays: “it’s like Disneyland". While Mahdi can come and go as he pleases, his friends are prisoners of the camp. One square kilometre in size for a population of 70,000 refugees, who lead lives unlike any other with activities in slow motion. And then every so often… there’s the football World Cup.
