No fire zone: the killing fields of Sri Lanka

Callum Macrae

UK ● 2013 ● 93’

VO/OV st Fr/Nl

By 2009, after 26 years of internecine war in Sri Lanka, between 40,000 and 70,000 civilians had been massacred by the government and by the rebels, with no reaction from the United Nations and no attention from the world’s TV cameras. These war crimes remained secret. The veil of secrecy has now been lifted, and the tale of horror is told using amateur footage. This is an investigatory documentary that attempts to bring justice by pushing for the prosecution of the people responsible for these killing fields.
