Winston McAnuff & Fixi

Jamaïca / France

A veteran of Jamaican reggae, Winston McAnuff has experienced a musical revival since his recent collaborations with French rock musicians such as Camille Bazbaz or M, ranging from reggae to an eclectic style uniting blues, funk, Afrobeat, soul, rock and electro. Among these collaborations, the duo with Fixi, accordion and Java arranger, is one of the most prolific and original. It’s a contagious and festive chemistry that combines the roots heritage and the Rasta singer’s captivating voice with the moving melodies of the accordion. Accompanied on stage by the beat boxer Markus, they break down all musical barriers, freeing themselves of all rules and inventing “free music in a free world, an imaginary world we created.” The aptly named “Electric Dread” captivates and teases the crowd, enthralling and lifting his audience, with whom he is incredibly close.

Gift for the ending of the festival.
