In Syria, the revolution often occurs far from the international cameras. Young revolutionaries are working their social networks, on the Web and in the field, developing alternative media as well as systems for broadcasting information, establishing proof, bearing witness and offering mutual aid. In Chicago, a 19-year-old student from Syria works on the rebellion full time, connected to all the nerve centres of the revolution via the Web. But then #ChicagoGirl has to go to the scene of the conflict…
