Occupying Josaphat: obeying or disobeying?

The Commons Josaphat Collective will host a workshop on the commons linked to the Josaphat land development. The possibility to occupy the Josaphat wasteland before redevelopment starts, is currently under discussion. Many people who would like to occupy the wasteland for multiple activities. But who will be able or allowed to occupy it, in order to do what? This question fits perfectly within the central theme of the Festival des Libertés. Therefore we collectively ask the question: how to obey (well) or disobey (well) for the occupation of the Josaphat site? This case study will give an opportunity to apply the discourses and philosophies underlying the festival on the concrete and complex reality of Brussels’ territory.
