Luise is a German who has converted to Islam and married Mohamed, an Algerian with whom she has a young daughter. All three live with Luise’s parents, who find it hard to accept her wearing the veil. This situation creates tensions between Luise and her mother, but despite the seemingly insurmountable barriers, the film advocates dialogue rather than division.
