RUE DES PÊCHERIES brings together eight musicians in an ever-shifting project that exudes the lively, subtle hip-hop of the early days, with hints of jazz and aromas of funk. The group’s sound is the result of an alliance between an aggressive rhythm section, vintage keyboards and a driving horn ensemble, over which MC MTO lays down highly personal lyrics, sometimes critical, sometimes ironic, about the daily lives of a post-industrial generation in search of meaning. This desire to seek out and to create manifests itself during each of their shows, where improvisation leads the audience into a unique, constantly changing universe.
