Le printemps de Beyrouth

In reality, the Arab uprising did not start in Tunisia, but rather in Lebanon in 2005. After the assassination of the ex-Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri, more than one million Lebanese, from all religious and political backgrounds, marched in the centre of Beirut in order to demand the withdrawal of 20,000 Syrian soliders who were occupying the Land of the Cedars. Soula Saad filmed this patriotic mobilisation of Lebanese citizens, their quest for peace and justice, their determination to regain their freedom and their sovereignty. She filmed hope. A documentary of contagious power.

Winner of the Best documentary Film Award, Women International Film & television visionary Awards (uSA), 2010.
