GRAND CORPS MALADE helped bring slam out of stale cafés and obscure suburbs. Having had a way with words from a very young age, he writes for oral performance, marries syllables, juggles rhyme, plays on meaning and reworks syntax to stage his "verbal attacks." He takes his inspiration from every street corner, steeped in urban atmosphere, walking the crossroads of culture, hanging out with his mates. A love and thirst for life are conveyed on the lips of this poet who confronts the daily grind, nostalgia and hard knocks with "the heart and mind of a resistance fighter." A concert by GRAND CORPS MALADE is, first and foremost, an opportunity to share words and emotions, an invitation to speak your mind and regain hope.
