It has been twenty years since the Wall fell; it is now sometimes even necessary to specify the Berlin Wall when discussing it. For some people, there is still a diametrically opposed "us" and "them." However today, rather than using cement and barbed wire to create separations, the method is now a bit different... It seems the walls have been replaced with "bubbles." It is a softer, more comfortable concept. My cell phone, my computer, my virtual space to connect with friends, my flat, my car, my "those who are like me and think like me..."
The students at the national theatre school De Kleine Academie portray these walls and bubbles with humour and contempt. Don't be surprised if the audience is called upon to participate in these interludes...
