The best way to avoid falling into the trap of standardised, uniform and compartmentalised information - the hallmark of totalitarian systems - is to diversify the sources of information. Alongside the more conventional media, there is a constellation of other media with multiple forms and contents. How do they manage to survive on the margins of the information superhighway? What are their relations with objectivity, freedom and the general public? This discussion will bring together representatives from several alternative media in a spirit of sharing their practices.
Forum with JIM (Journal Indépendant et Militant), CEMAB (Centre for Alternative Media in Brussels), A voix autre, the collective Le Ressort, Radio Panik, Radio Campus. Moderator: Olivier Starquit (Les Amis du Monde Diplomatique, Belgium).
