Torture made in the EU?
This debate follows the film Torture made in USA.
Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib,.. The special prisons created by the USA during the War on Terror have been present in the news. The inhumane or degrading treatments, some almost reaching torture, that have happened in those places have been at the forefront of the news. But what is being done in Europe, in Belgium? How are detainees and prisoners treated as part of the War on Terror? Do freedom-killing laws and exceptional practices apply to dangerous terrorists or are they also aimed at forms of activism and resistance?
Meeting with Marie-Monique Robin (director of Torture made in USA), Christophe Marchand (attorney at law - Jus Cogens, member of the T Committee) and Jan Fermon (attorney at law, Progress Lawyers Network, member of the T Committee).Moderation: Manu Lambert (Ligue des Droits de l'Homme).
