At a time when one of the main challenges for the feminist movement is to come together in spite of divergences, it is important to create bridges between women in the Muslim world and women in the Western world. This is the role of the "Women and Societies in Transition" network, which at the initiative of Amazone has for the past few years provided a meeting ground for Belgian, Moroccan, Turkish and Iranian women. Together, they are looking to enhance the participation of women in political decision-making in their countries and to integrate intercultural issues in the feminist project in order to engage in a better dialogue with women from immigrant backgrounds.

Moderator: Simone Susskind (President of Actions in the Mediterranean and initiator of the "Women and Societies in Transition" project).

With participation from women involved in the network: Shahla Sherkat (journalist, Muslim, women's rights activist in Iran, founder of the magazine Zanân, or "Women"), Zeïnep Gögüs (journalist, founder of the association Ka der, president of the Brussels-based NGO, TR Plus - Centre for Turkey in Europe), Khadija Errebbah (President, Casablanca branch of the Democratic Association of Moroccan Women), Fery Makek-Madani (founder of Art Cantara, Belgium), Fatiha Saïdi (senator, Belgium).

In partnership with Amazone.
