Propagandes et guerres "démocratiques"

Français

From ex-Yugoslavia more than a decade ago to Libya and Afghanistan today, many wars have been fought on the pretext of support for civilian populations or to restore democracy. Extensive propaganda in Western countries accompanied each of these wars: from the demonization of an enemy to the glorification of the democratic nations that launched the wars. What strings does this propaganda pull on in order to accelerate the decision to start the war and to generate support for it? What are the consequences of these wars, with respect to the announced goals?

Rony Brauman, which was involved in this debate withdrew at the last minute. He is replaced by Georges Berghezan (research fellow, Group for Research and Information on Peace). He will talk with Jean Bricmont (physicist, author of L’impérialisme humanitaire and many other geopolitical analyses).
