In Eastern countries, homophobia is embraced openly by political authorities. Journalistic reports on two Gay Pride Parades were violently suppressed by the Moscow police, NeoNazi groups and orthodox priests, among others. In the daily lives of Moscow's gays and lesbians, there is a mixture of relative freedom and constant fear.
