How do you forgive the people who killed your children? Seven years after the Tutsi genocide, the Rwandan government established the Gacaca, local courts in which Rwandans from the hills are called upon to judge their neighbours. It is an experiment in reconciliation that mixes fear and anger, accusations and denials, blurred truths, inconsolable sadness and hope for life regained.
